Internship Overview:

As a Computational Research intern on the Sumitovant Biopharma team, you\'ll be part of the Real World Data (RWD) team using real-world data to support commercial drug development, market access, drug valuation and clinical operations among many therapeutic areas. The RWD team maintains and constantly expands large internal databases, performs analyses for different business units across the subsidiary companies and develops novel statistical methodologies fit-for-purpose. The team collaborates closely with stakeholders for data recommendations, study design, analysis implementation, and communication of the results in order to impact the development of new drugs and launched products.

For this internship position, your main responsibility is to support better usage of real-world data, which includes but is not limited to healthcare administrative claims and electronic healthcare record databases. You will help to perform analyses to support clinical strategy and commercialization for assets at different development stages and integrate different data sources into our current data infrastructure. Throughout this internship, you will be exposed to real-world healthcare use-cases, learn more about various healthcare data sources and gain hands-on experience using large databases.

The Computational Research and Analytics (CR&A) team is focused on building out a computational ecosystem, the \'DrugOme\' to facilitate high quality answers to strategic pharma questions, in support of Drug Discovery, Business Development, Clinical Development, and Commercialization. The Clinical and HEOR Real World Data (RWD) team within CR&A leverages extensive electronic claims and electronic health record data to provide epidemiological analyses to many groups working at various stages of drug development within the Sumitomo family of companies.

About You:

• Currently pursuing a Master\'s or higher degree (preferably in health data science, life sciences, public health)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Good knowledge of healthcare data and the U.S. healthcare system is highly valued
• Experience working with large healthcare database is a plus
• Self-motivated, proactive and thrive in ambiguous situations
• Authorized to work in the United States

About the Internship:

• Summer internship
• Approximately 3 months in duration, flexible start and end dates
• Location: US-based, either on-site in New York City or remote
• Estimated hours per week: 40
• Compensation: $32/hour
