Janitorial Staff Member
to help us keep our spaces safe, clean, and welcoming.
Position Overview
The Janitorial Staff member will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of Athelas' facilities. This position is responsible for
quarterly deep cleaning of 18 residential group homes
and
twice-weekly cleaning of our 2,500 sq. ft. administrative office
in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and takes pride in creating a clean, sanitary, and professional environment for our clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Perform
quarterly cleaning
of 18 residential group homes, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, window cleaning, kitchen and bathroom sanitation, and surface disinfection.
Provide
twice-weekly cleaning
of a 2,500 sq. ft. office space, ensuring all work areas, common spaces, restrooms, and meeting rooms are well maintained.
Manage and track
cleaning supply inventory
; notify leadership when reorders are needed.
Follow all safety and sanitation protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ensure compliance with organizational standards and maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while working in residential environments.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand, bend, or walk for extended periods.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required (travel to multiple sites weekly).
Strong attention to detail, time management, and self-direction.
