Job Description

The Custodian Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of campus buildings, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the cleanliness of campus common areas and residential buildings according to assigned schedules. Utilize cleaning supplies and equipment to uphold a professional appearance of campus facilities. Follow the assigned cleaning checklist, which includes restroom sanitation, dusting and sanitizing furniture, cleaning windows, emptying trash receptacles, sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming floors, as well as shampooing carpets. Respond promptly to service calls for spills, minor repairs, or other cleaning needs. Assist with setting up classrooms, meeting spaces, and events as required. Inspect and restock areas to ensure readiness for daily activities. Monitor and report supply inventory needs. Adhere to PSU Safety Policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Qualification Requirements :

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial cleaning or housekeeping. Strong professionalism and communication skills. Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Work Environment:

Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.

Lifting Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Mobility:

Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and the ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.

Manual Dexterity:

Ability to handle cleaning equipment and supplies.

Vision Requirements:

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
