We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas. Maintain floors through effective floor care techniques including buffing and waxing as needed. Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and well-maintained at all times. Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with environmental standards. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards. Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient operations within the facility. Provide porter services when necessary, assisting with moving furniture or equipment as needed.

Skills

Proven experience in cleaning and janitorial roles is preferred. Familiarity with custodial practices including commercial cleaning techniques. Knowledge of floor care methods and equipment operation for buffing and maintenance. Experience in residential painting or industrial cleaning is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions effectively. Good physical stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills to interact positively with staff and visitors.
