Overview

Knowledge Services is actively seeking a Curriculum Designer/ Trainer for a contract role with the State of IN\'s Department of Revenue in Indianapolis, IN. This person will work a hybrid schedule when onsite classes are not in session.

Incumbent is primarily responsible for the development and delivery of classroom and web-based training to all areas of DOR Customer Service and acts as the key contact for the department. This role will manage the development of courses and the construction of instruction materials for the DOR\xe2\x80\x99s Frontline Customer-Service Training Program. This role will work to ensure Customer Service achieves improvements in Member Satisfaction, adherence to PII, and accuracy of resolution. Incumbent will also incorporate leadership, representative, survey, and Quality Assurance feedback for the creation and deployment of ongoing refresher training. This role will create and deliver professional-level new hire and refresher training tools and materials. The Curriculum Designer/ Trainer will also establish and track the achievement of measurements of training success. The role will also perform duties that pertain to the functioning of the training, where needed, such as tracking training in PeopleSoft, maintaining training catalogs, calendars, booking rooms, and providing learner customer service. Secondary function consists of working within established training development guidelines to construct new programs or revise existing ones.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive educational program and curriculum for Customer Service, Payment Services, Field Representatives and District Offices
  • Design and update instructional materials supporting Customer Service to be used in multiple platform and technological formats
  • Facilitate classroom and web-based training to Customer Service
  • Assist in the administration of all DOR training functions including maintenance of learning management systems and other administrative duties pertaining to division metrics, enrollment,
bookings, reporting, etc. * Identify training needs and provide feedback to management at all levels related to the planning strategies to satisfy those needs
  • Collaborate with other training staff and personnel within DOR by sharing resources and technical expertise to develop curriculum, materials, and programs aimed at facilitating overall communication, coordination, and .
  • Assist with the provision of support to departmental managers and supervisors to ensure curriculum developed allows for proper application, usage, and understanding and provides assistance to department subject matter experts with the production of materials to be used for training on-the-job
  • Design and develop training aimed as basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of staff knowledge and skills including at the leader and senior leader level
  • Develop and implement assessments and/or testing materials to ensure knowledge and skills transfer takes place as well as to determine the viability of training and instructional materials
  • Work in collaboration with other state agencies to provide and/or assist in the development of training programs and materials that are applicable to both specific and general audiences
  • Conduct annual and continued review of current and future training curriculum to maintain compliance with Departmental and State training standards and policies
Qualifications
  • 3+ yrs. of curriculum design, adult learning, and training experience
  • Experience using Adobe Captivate
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, with also experience in working with PDF documents.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret, and correlate technical material and to adapt to and learn new or updating software and/or web based applications with ease
  • Ability to express ideas both orally and in written presentations to audiences of various levels of understanding
  • Extensive knowledge of training and educational methods and techniques and advanced adult education principles and practices
  • Ability to effectively lead efforts in the construction of training materials and courses to meet and satisfy learning goals and/or work-related needs
  • Ability to keep current on new trends, philosophies, and available materials regarding adult education and organizational development
  • Ability to plan and conduct seminars, workshops, and other training sessions to wide range of audiences
  • Ability to assemble training materials including writing comprehensive manuals, assembling texts, and developing professional multi-media presentations
  • Ability to adhere to and keep on track with projects and training schedules with only minor guidance and supervision
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with agency directors, managers, supervisors, and general staff
  • Experience in the management of training development and/or delivery
