GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This senior level position provides lead work direction to other technical support staff and performs the more difficult and complex work in providing technical assistance for assigned State agency systems. This position is responsible for defining, designing, implementing and testing computing solutions including servers, storage, backup/restore, virtual infrastructure, support escalations and monitoring in support of State agency business requirements. The primary responsibility of this analyst is to the assigned agency with a secondary responsibility to ETS enterprise tasks.

  • Design, implementation and advanced support
  • Coordinate, install, and configure hardware used to protect sensitive information.
  • Perform impact analysis and generate IOC and hunt packets from forensic and malware analysis.
  • Lead for assigned agency technical projects to include consolidation of resources, data migrations, server builds and installation of new hardware and software solutions.
  • Coordinates and communicates work activities with the agency, other ETS groups and assigns tasks
  • Updates assigned agency hardware, operating systems, and software as needed to provide required functionality and security.
  • Maximize infrastructure capacities through proactive review and planning to ensure that IT capacity meet current and future State business requirements.
  • Policy and compliance support. Assist in policy development as well as in ensuring that compliance items are built into the appropriate agency policies to include support for security audits.
  • Assisting other teams in developing secure deployment strategies of systems, networks, and tools to help agencies fulfill their business objectives
Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference may be given to those with experience in leading teams.
Preference may be given to those with desktop support experience (software, hardware, and peripherals).

Preference may be given to those with customer service in an IT setting.

Preference may be given to those with experience building and imaging computers for pc deployments. Preference may be given to those with experience in active directory and group policy support.

Preference may be given to those with experience in network support.

Preference may be given to those with experience in server support.

Preference may be given to those with ITIL training/experience. Preference may be given to those with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Technology or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Design, implementation and advanced agency computing infrastructure. This includes servers, storage, operating systems, data backup and other related technology. Build, maintain, and manage IT infrastructure for Microsoft Windows server, Linux operating systems, and storage platforms for daily system administration. Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and coordinates the use and proper operation of agency servers, storage environments, and network systems
  • Lead for assigned agency technical projects to include consolidation of resources, data migrations, server builds and installation of new hardware and software solutions. Coordinates and communicates work activities with the agency, other ETS groups and assigns tasks to complete the project. Manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously
  • Provides on-the-job training and serves as an information resource for agency staff in resolving more difficult and complex problems. Develops and documents procedures and provides training to team members
  • Updates assigned agency hardware, operating, systems, and software as needed to provide required functionality and security. Supports operational management and patch management
  • Perform end-to-end Microsoft Windows Server design, capacity planning and performance management, identifying opportunities for quality improvements, automation, and cost savings
  • Maximize infrastructure capacities through proactive review and planning to ensure that IT capacity meets current and future State business requirements. Performs daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity and availability of all agency hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
  • Exercises independent judgement to analyze facts and solve work problems. Acting supervisor when the supervisor is absent
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor\'s Degree (typically in Computer Technology)

Experience:

1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Computer Technology) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Support Technologist IV

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Computer Technology) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Support Technologist IV

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Night and weekend work may be required.

Some travel may be required.
