Description

The mission of the DHS Chief Information Security Officer Directorate (DHS CISOD) is to support the Department\xe2\x80\x99s implementation of all applicable regulatory requirements including the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA), relevant Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars, Executive Orders, Federal laws, directives, policies, and regulations. The DHS CISOD\xe2\x80\x99s mission is to also provide the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a secure and trusted computing environment. The DHS CISOD assists in ensuring Department compliance with information security requirements. Information security is an essential business function, critical to enabling DHS to conduct its operations and deliver service to the public.

The Cybersecurity Assessment and Management (CSAM) Python Developer will develop and maintain high-quality software code and automated tests (including Unit, Functional, Performance, Acceptance) for web interface applications that integrates data, analytics, and reporting components for DHS CISOD. Primary responsibilities include:

Provide technical guidance and assessment of application and system development projects to ensure technical integrity and compliance with design requirements.

Work closely with solution architects and collaborate with program managers to develop project plans and participate in resource planning.

Responsible for full-stack application development with focus on UI presentation layer Python APIs, Distributed Caching and Disturbed Messaging.

Develop, evaluate, and implement improved processes, methods, and tools to continually improve software delivery effectiveness.

Specify systems architecture, application design, systems integration methods, and data migration tools and techniques.

Coordinate with QA testing staff to ensure comprehensive test coverage, effective performance and load tests, timely resolution of issues, and other actions to assure delivery of quality software.

Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager\xe2\x80\x99s discretion.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s Degree and 12-16 years of experience.

10+ year\xe2\x80\x99s hands-on object-oriented programming experience in Python in developing large scale enterprise web applications.

Experience in designing and developing scalable services and integrate securely with internal and external API\xe2\x80\x99s.

Experience with cross-platform (PC/Mac, desktop, laptop, tablet) and cross-browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari) development.

Strong object-oriented (OO) design skills with good coding discipline.

Proficiency in SQL, Data Modeling and Database concepts.

Solid understanding of Software Design Patterns and SDLC tools and processes.

Experience with design and development of multi-tenant, Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.

Experience with automated deployment tools and version control systems.

Experience building cloud-native applications in cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, ideally in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.

Prior DHS IT security and/or experience preferred.

Pay Range: Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00
