Position Highlights:
The Critical Care Outreach RN is a highly specialized critical care nurse who provides emergency response, high acuity nursing consultation, escalation of care, proactive surveillance and episodic care across all inpatient units.
This RN makes critical, independent judgements to support high quality care and positive patient outcomes.
Full time - Nights - 12 hour shifts

Position Responsibilities:

Advanced skills in critical care nursing
Nursing leader of Rapid Response, Code Blue, and Stroke Code Teams
Provides critical care nursing consultation for high acuity patients outside of ICU
Works with primary care team to facilitate and expedite escalation of care
Provides proactive clinical assessments within 24 hours of ICU discharge
Manages workflow through autonomous triage and negotiation in a dynamic environment
Participates in nursing research and quality improvement initiatives

Position Qualifications Include:

Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.
CPR/BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only) required
ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only) required
Bachelor\'s degree (or higher) in nursing required.
Master\'s Degree in nursing preferred.
Minimum of 3 years critical care experience required
Progressive leadership experience preferred
Consistent proficient performance at RN 2 position or equivalent experience
National Certification required (CCRN)
