Located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, we deliver a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.

The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RNs are able to float to the Pediatric Med/Surg units as well as the following Pediatric Critical Care units: PICU, Pediatric CVICU, Pediatric Emergency Department and the NICU. The critical care RNs function in the role of charge flyer in which they serve as a resource for the entire pediatric hospital, making staffing recommendations, as well as are members of all emergency response teams, including code blue, rapid response team, and trauma activation team.

This RN role offers an additional $2.00/hour for being in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool.

This position will be working 60 hours every two weeks on the rotating day/night shift, 12 hours shifts, and every third weekend.
Responsibilities

  • Safely employs (sets-up, utilizes and trouble shoots) the following monitoring devices;
  • Arterial lines
  • Cardiac Monitoring
  • EKGs
  • EtCO2
  • Doppler
  • Manages complex medication and infusion therapies
  • Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.
  • Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
Qualifications

Required:
  • BLS for healthcare providers
  • MN RN licensure
Preferred:
  • BSN or higher degree in nursing strongly preferred
  • PALS/ACLS. Certification in pediatric nursing
