The Survivor Resource Center (SRC) is seeking a dedicated professional to join our exceptional team as a Part-time Crisis Response Advocate. SRC is a nonprofit agency serving survivors of sexual assault and their families/significant others by providing free and confidential counseling, case management and advocacy for survivors and their significant others, as well as violence prevention education and professional training to the community at large.
This position is a part-time, stipend-based role. You will be required to be on-call at least 15 days per month and will be provided a stipend for each day on call. Responding to survivors at the hospital when needed is also a requirement. You will be paid an additional hourly rate for hospital calls.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as the Primary on-call staff, providing crisis intervention on SRC's 24-7 hotline during the hours when the SRC office is not open (weekends - 24-hour shift, some holidays, and weekdays from 4:00pm to 8:00am). Crisis interventions include answering calls from individuals impacted by sexual violence who are in crisis and mitigating the crisis as well as offering resources and referrals when needed and providing information about SRC services.
Provide in-person assistance to survivors of sexual assault who present at the hospital (OSF Sacred Heart), arriving at the hospital within sixty (60) minutes of a request. This assistance includes offering support and resources to these survivors as well as information about available services and their rights under the Sexual Assault Services Emergency Treatment Act (SASETA).
Maintain timely and appropriate documentation of survivor interactions.
Maintain ethical behavior and professionalism in all interactions while performing duties.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all survivor information in accordance with Illinois law under the Confidentiality of Statements Made to Rape Crisis Personnel Act.
This position will be expected to be on-call at least 15 days per month (in the evenings between 4pm - 8am and on weekends and holidays).
Complete a 40-hour Crisis Intervention training (offered in-house after hire) and maintain 6 Continuing Education training hours per year.
Attendance as needed at Advocacy and Volunteer meetings (4 per year).
Qualifications:
Experience with crisis intervention or traumatized individuals is preferred.
Compassionate listening skills and the ability to mitigate a crisis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Dedication to the mission of the organization
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must live within 45 minutes of OSF Sacred Heart hospital in Danville, IL (to meet SASETA requirements for responding to hospital calls).
Benefits:
This position is stipend for on-call time and hourly for hospital call-outs (with minimal hours), so there are no fringe benefits.

You will be paid an additional hourly rate of $16/hr for responding to hospital calls. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as the position involves some travel.
