Purpose Statement

The job of Creative Services Specialist is done for the purpose/s of initiating, developing and producing professional communications to be shared across multiple platforms using a variety of media; assisting with internal and external communications that directly align with the District\xe2\x80\x99s mission and strategic plan; and contributing to website design and management.
Essential Functions
  • Collaborates with district personnel for the purpose of developing public communication, including press releases, graphics, videos and photography.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director of Public Relations and Assistant Director of Public Relations for the purpose of developing content for the district\xe2\x80\x99s digital platforms (e.g. social media, website, e- newsletters, broadcast and print media, etc.) and conveying information, documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, communicating ideas, and/or providing supporting material.
  • Supports and assists in the execution of public relations department communications plans
  • Serves as a district storyteller for the purpose of highlighting the District\xe2\x80\x99s students, staff, mission and progress, with a focus on quality storytelling through photography, videography and writing.
  • Assists with the planning of special events and programs (e.g. public engagement events, student recognitions, Staff Awards, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring optimal implementation of District activities and programs.
  • Conceptualizes plans, designs and produces contemporary, professional materials consistent with the District\xe2\x80\x99s goals and initiatives (e.g. print, online, multimedia, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that they are produced in a manner that is consistent with the District\xe2\x80\x99s goals and initiatives.
  • Creates and edits video recordings for the purpose of ensuring productions meet project standards and criteria while following District branding and policy guidelines.
  • Assists with the production and management of District website, social media and e-newsletter content for the purpose of ensuring that standards are met and that information is disseminated in a consistent and accurate manner.
  • Assists with monitoring the district\xe2\x80\x99s website and social media platforms for the purpose of ensuring that department goals and communication plans are completed and responding to comments as outlined in the District\'s social media guidelines.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff, and serving as a District representative.
  • Researches a variety of topics (e.g. public policy, education code constraints, social media activity, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and established guidelines; securing information for planning; and/or responding to requests.
  • Responds to issues and inquiries from stakeholders (e.g. staff, the public, parents, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and supporting public relations initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.

Other Functions

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications; planning and managing multiple projects; developing and administering budgets, and developing effective working relationships. Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform the job\'s functions. There is some opportunity to impact the organization\xe2\x80\x99s services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job\'s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience:
Job-related experience is required.
