Job Description

The copy editor will provide a thorough, detailed review of all written pieces\xe2\x80\x94for both web and print\xe2\x80\x94prior to publication. He/she will be responsible for finalizing content that is error-free in regards to The AP Stylebook, The Chicago Manual of Style, the Ramsey Solutions style guidelines, typographical errors, grammatical accuracy, and easy readability.
Specific duties and expectations include:
Copy Editing

• Coordinate with all writers to ensure every written piece is edited and promptly returned to the original writer for finalization.
• Strive for mastery in The AP Stylebook, The Chicago Manual of Style, and the Ramsey Solutions style standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in editing on paper with standard editing marks and electronically with Microsoft Word\xe2\x80\x99s \xe2\x80\x9cTrack Changes\xe2\x80\x9d feature.
• Serve as fact-checker to verify the accuracy of statistics, Scripture references, names, dates, phone numbers, addresses, URLs, etc. in every written piece.
• Make sure all written content is in line with Dave\xe2\x80\x99s message, statistics, tone, and voice.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Ramsey Solutions writing style standards.

• Assist the department leader in tracking new and ongoing team projects.
• Work with other Ramsey Solutions department leaders to receive, accept, and provide updates on new and ongoing projects.
• Communicate deadlines and project updates to the department leader and team members.
• Participate in project planning and scheduling meetings.

• Continue to grow personally and professionally through reading, study, and available workshops and seminars.
• Continually refine professional skills through additional training, education, and conferences.

• Pursue extreme excellence and customer service as a reflection and witness of our shared Christian faith.
• Look carefully to interact with how God is working to accomplish His plan in each team member and each interaction in the marketplace.
