Position Summary We are currently seeking a motivated Co-Op for our analytical R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our growing team and learn about the pharmaceutical industry. The focus will be to assist project teams with compiling and maintaining analytical test results from ongoing stability studies for multiple projects. While working on-site, this individual will learn high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry, as well as get firsthand experience in sample analysis with our analytical scientists. This position reports to our Associate Scientist, Technical Operations and will be hybrid, requiring at least one day per week in our headquarters in New Haven, CT.
Principal Responsibilities The individual will follow study protocols to document stability data for project leaders. The incumbent will learn about stability indicating HPLC methods and why they are important to ensure the shelf life of drug products. Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain stability sample pull schedules for multiple projects.
  • Perform data entry and verification to generate and maintain stability data tables for multiple projects.
  • Set up HPLC runs and test samples with supervision.
  • Evaluate data from mass spectrometer to verify Quality Control (QC) results.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in lab-based analytical activities is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong attention-to-detail and be able to recognize trends outside of expected results.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Able to work independently and communicate progress or challenges effectively.
  • Open to constructive feedback and willingness to freely ask questions.
  • Able to work up to 25 hours per week, with at least 8 hours on-site, starting in May/June through December of 2023.
Education
  • Current student enrolled in an Associate\xe2\x80\x99s of Science or Bachelor\'s of Science program with a concentration in a related scientific field.
