Controls Technician

Chattanooga, TN
Permanent | On-site | $65,000+ depending on experience

Job Summary

We're seeking a hands-on

Controls Technician

to join a growing automation team, with a focus on configuring, testing, and commissioning industrial control systems. This is a

technician-level

role -- not a software development position -- best suited to someone experienced in setup, hardware troubleshooting, and adherence to strict commissioning protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Configure, set up, and download software to devices such as PLCs, HMIs, and Smart Relays Perform system testing and commissioning following documented procedures Troubleshoot wiring and hardware across 120V, 24V, low-voltage, and signal circuits Read and interpret wiring schematics and technical documentation Work collaboratively on-site with project and engineering teams Maintain high attention to detail across setup and testing phases

Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience in controls or automation environments Strong familiarity with wiring schematics and control hardware Demonstrated ability to configure and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and relay-based systems Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills Must have full working rights in the US Ability to work on-site in Chattanooga, TN (100%)

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to AutoCAD for control system drawings Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies

Role is

100% on-site

at the Chattanooga, TN facility Standard

40-hour work week

, day shifts only (Mon-Fri) No travel or overtime requirements Permanent, full-time employment structure
