Job Description


Analysts in the Continuous Innovation (CI) series are primarily responsible for analyzing the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of County services.

Key Elements Of The Role:
Continuous Innovation Analysts support research on management and operations, and act as project leads supporting modernization of County operations and technology systems. CI Analysts will receive training in PMI (Project Management Institute) project management skills, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. CI Analysts will also be trained in the configuration of the Salesforce platform, and will leverage this system to support modernization of County operations. Ideal candidates will have completed coursework in operations management, project management, business analysis, public policy, and other related fields.


Continuous Innovation Analysts work hand in hand with Business Intelligence Analysts supporting data-driven decision making in County Departments. These roles are part of a County-wide office of Continuous Innovation that works in collaboration with 311 Call Center, the Department of Information Technology, and the County Executive.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Graduation from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor\'s Degree.

  • Additional opportunities may be available for candidates with certified experience in one or more of the following fields: Lean Six Sigma, Project Management, Salesforce.

This Role Is A Provisional Appointment
A provisional appointment, which occurs only in the competitive class, is a temporary appointment to a position for which no eligible list exists or for which an eligible list exists with fewer than three candidates who are willing to accept the position. In order to become permanent, the employee who is provisionally appointed must take the next examination for the position in question. The appointment to the position is then made from among the three highest scoring passing candidates who indicate their willingness to accept the position. Civil Service law does not compel the appointing authority to choose the provisional employee should he or she be one of the three candidates.
