Longwood Gardens is seeking a Continuing Education Associate to join our exciting Continuing Education programs, which reach and impact a local, regional, and global audience by bringing pleasure, fostering well-being, and sparking the imagination. Our classes, workshops, lectures, and certificate programs span horticulture, land stewardship, floral design, garden design, and the arts. The Continuing Educational Associate will provide administrative, logistical, and operational support for Continuing Education programmatic offerings and personnel. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Longwood staff, instructors, and volunteers to ensure world-class delivery of Continuing Education programs.
  • Participating in the development of exceptional Continuing Education programs in horticulture, land stewardship, floral design, garden design, and the arts.
  • Providing logistical support for Continuing Education programs, including procurement, volunteer coordination, contracting, payment processing, records management, and reporting.
  • Serving as the Continuing Education registrar and providing exemplary customer service to students.
  • Assisting with course selection, registration, and communications.
  • Participating in the delivery of Continuing Education programs.
  • Serving as a representative for Continuing Education and Longwood Gardens both internally and externally.
  • This position requires evening and weekend work to support our programs.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Administration or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in an administrative setting, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience in Horticulture preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, data entry and management, scheduling, point-of-sale, and Acrobat with the ability to learn new computer programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process, with proven ability to create and maintain documentation.
  • Strong planning and high-level organization skills, with the ability to prioritize concurrent tasks and take initiative to solve problems.
  • Excellent etiquette, attention to aesthetics, and customer service skills to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
