Job Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for the overall profitable management of small construction project(s) or, under direct supervision, a larger project. The Assistant Project Manager negotiates, composes, and executes subcontracts / POs and trade partner changes within Signature Authority. Critical thinking, planning, and team building skills are critical for success. The Assistant Project Manager is a daily representative of Neumann and must demonstrate our core values.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Physical Demands:


Duties will include standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing, and use of fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. Including, climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. (above and below ground level) while maintaining balance and reaching in all directions. Must occasionally lift, push, pull, or move up to 35 lbs.

Working Conditions:


While in the office relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Conditions will vary at each project location but may include extreme temperatures and exposure to other physically challenging environmental factors. May occasionally be exposed to high noise levels and/or hazardous materials while on job sites.

Hours:

Work more than 40 hours per week. Construction may sometimes continue around the clock to meet deadlines. Must be "on-call", often 24 hours a day.


Travel

: The job will be performed in an office environment, on a construction project job site, and with owners or project partners at their offices or other meeting sites. Personnel are responsible for their own transportation.


Driver's License Requirement:

Valid Iowa driver's license.


Supervisory Responsibilities:




Project Engineers, Project Engineer Co-ops and Interns as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:




Bachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering or related field or comparable experience in the field.

Other Duties:




May be asked to assist in other functions of the company as needed.
