Compensation: $10.63/hr.+ tips

Location: Durango, Colorado

Job Summary: Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is seeking energetic, outgoing, motivated people to operate all aspects of the onboard concession department. Provide exceptional customer service and aid in the preservation of our history while venturing through the scenic San Juan Mountains.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Take a leading role in being a host to our passengers on board the train and in our event venue. The onboard concessions crew is the \xe2\x80\x98face\xe2\x80\x99 of the railroad!

\xc2\xb7 Actively work to achieve sales goals by selling food, beverage, and souvenir items.

\xc2\xb7 Be accurate and detail-oriented with our stocking, inventory, and cleaning procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, environment.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain a professional appearance and awareness of surroundings while multitasking throughout the workday.

\xc2\xb7 Must be comfortable, outgoing, and energetic as a public speaker and salesperson.

\xc2\xb7 Must be able to understand and operate cash register and account for a cash drawer.

\xc2\xb7 Must be a team player and work cooperatively with all departments.

\xc2\xb7 Must have the ability to regularly be on time for shifts.

\xc2\xb7 Be compliant with all D&SNGRR company procedures, safety, and operating rules.

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned or requested by the Onboard Supervisor or Crew Leader.

Education, Skill, and Experience:

\xc2\xb7 Cash handling experience.

\xc2\xb7 Cash register experience.

\xc2\xb7 Public speaking experience.

\xc2\xb7 Bartending and/or serving experience.

\xc2\xb7 Sales experience.

\xc2\xb7 High School Diploma or equivalent.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to speak a second language, especially Spanish and French is a plus.

Work Environment:

\xc2\xb7 Must be able to pass a background check.

\xc2\xb7 Must be at least 21 years old.

\xc2\xb7 Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

\xc2\xb7 Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
