Position and Title: COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY OFFICER Reports To: C.E.O., Co-CEO, and Director of Operations of FreezPak Logistics Status: Exempt Position Salary: $90,000 Annually or more with qualified experience. Job description Works with the CEO, CO-CEO, and Director of Operations the Compliance & Safety Officer provides overall support and training to maintain FreezPak Logistics standards and of regulatory compliance. Ensures that our business is well-coordinated and productive by ensuring compliance with regulations, promoting safety through training and policy setting that meet the standards of the Company. The ideal candidate must be able to competently plan many kinds of operational activities. The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company\xe2\x80\x99s operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success. Essential Duties:
- The Compliance and Safety Officer works with the President to set strategic goals to accomplish compliance and safety in all areas of operations.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer is responsible for maintaining records and updating policies for compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer maintains records and promotes safety to ensure compliance with insurance standards.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer ensures the Compliance Department runs efficiently, safely and minimizes costs.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer creates and updates the company\xe2\x80\x99s safety policies, keeps records of safety compliance, documents employee incidents properly, and develops and implements staff training.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer is responsible for obtaining required permits for operations and ensures operations are within required compliance regulations.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer registers and manage compliance with applicable regulatory agencies, including DOL for all Company locations. Monitoring communications and policies adopted by applicable regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer is responsible for enforcing and fostering a safe work environment that is compliant with local, state and federal guidelines in all operating locations.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer maintains, updates, and implements driver requirements per regulations.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer conducts MONTHLY training.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer performs onsite inspections of accident locations
- The Compliance and Safety Officer conducts all refreshers at the terminal the employee is employed for.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer keeps records of compliance exceptions for audit purposes.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer ensures that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations in all operating locations.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer is responsible for reviewing insurance policies with the VP Of Finance and making recommendations for improvements and savings.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer ensures the fleet is compliant with all regulations by working with Fleet Management.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer works with the Director of Operations to oversee hours of service to ensure compliance with regulations.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer is responsible for OSHA reporting and compliance.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer travels to all company locations at least once a quarter to review safety procedures and ensure compliance.
- The Compliance and Safety Officer completes all other duties as assigned by the CEO/CO-CEO/Director of Operations
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure inspection and audit.
- Perform other duties related to the position as required.
