Community Living Counselor - Young Adult Services (YAS) - Transitional Living House (THL)

Position Overview

Provide residential support and counseling, as well as coordination of services to program clients.

We are looking for dedicated, hard-working professionals to work in our licensed Transitional Living Program in Mansfield, Connecticut. Working with our adults in mental health recovery to return to living independently. Work as part of a team providing individual support and group counseling in a residential setting. Milner House is a 14-bed intensively staffed transitional living facility. It serves people with severe and prolonged mental illness. The facility provides 24-hour coverage on three awake-shifts and is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Work includes assisting and teaching individuals in adult daily living skills and social and emotional skill development. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to transport clients in their own car are required.

Responsibilities include:

Medication monitoring Transporting individuals that we serve Assists individuals in addressing medical and psychiatric needs Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one-to-one interventions as directed by the treatment plan Assist in the preparation of meals Individual and group counseling Crisis intervention and risk assessment Function as part of a team in support of available services Coordinate care with providers and families as needed Documentation House cleaning
Comprehensive training provided for all positions.

Schedule

Full Time: (2nd shift) Sunday - Thursday 12:30PM - 9:00PM (40 hrs) Part Time: (1st shift) Friday - Monday 7:00AM-3:30PM (32 hours)

Requirements

1st and 2nd shift position

- Bachelor's Degree in relevant human services field, or Associates Degree plus two years of appropriate experience required.

3rd shift position

- High School Diploma plus four years of appropriate experience required.

United Services, Inc. requires all employees to be vaccinated against influenza annually.

Salary Range

$19.00 - $20.98 per hour depending on experience

Bilingual Spanish/English Fluency

$19.48 - $22.04 per hour depending on experience.
