Program Description
This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps (VHCB AmeriCorps). The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach to creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. VHCB AmeriCorps is a national service program that places members with non-profit housing or land and energy conservation organizations around the state.
Summary of position
Assist with volunteer program development and management at Cathedral Square's affordable, service-enriched housing communities for older adults and people with diverse needs. Duties include outreach to businesses, schools and resident associations; tracking volunteer activity; and coordinating appreciation events. The role includes some time at the Memory Care residential community in Williston.
Essential Functions
articipate in greeting and welcoming Day Respite participants and volunteers at Memory Care at Allen Brook (MCAB)
Identify and perform outreach with potential volunteers; including engagement with community organizations that encourage staff volunteerism.
Promote volunteer opportunities to businesses, schools, community groups and Cathedral Square resident associations.
Create and publish volunteer opportunity position descriptions for social media and website.
Document and track volunteer activity in the volunteer database.
Plan and coordinate volunteer appreciation events.
Gather data on program participation for program impact analyses.
Develop "lessons learned" document for pilot Day Respite program at MCAB.
Participate in an Independent Service Project under the guidance of VHCB AmeriCorps.
Participate in all VHCB AmeriCorps Program Initiatives & outreach activities to promote AmeriCorps.
Engage in professional and personal development activities and networking opportunities.
Submit bi-weekly timesheets.
Complete all enrollment and exit requirements.

Position begins January 13, 2026 and ends July 3, 2026
Half-time slot, requires 915 hours
Living allowance/Education Award:
$16,147 living allowance (pre-tax), $3,697.50 education award (pre-tax)
