Overview

Join our team as a Communications Media Analyst and make a direct impact on veteran health with the implementation of large-scale business transformation initiatives. This is an opportunity to support the communications workstream and serve as an instrumental change agent for our federal healthcare client. You will implement high visibility and/or enterprise-level communications, projects, programs, and initiatives.

Work closely with and support federal agency clients in the analysis and execution of the organizational communications strategy. The federal agencies have a wide range of stakeholder groups with varying priorities, interests, and needs. Communications is a key function to build awareness, understanding, confidence and support for program initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze data through media monitoring/social listening platforms.
  • Design and implement complex search queries across a number of government-related topics.
  • Annotate and label complex breaking news events.
  • Regularly conduct QA of data feeds to ensure quality standards.
  • Collaborate on and communicate about daily priorities across multiple departments and levels.
  • Clean and transform data using advanced text formulas, logic statements, pivot tables, and index/vlookups with the objective of being able to work and manipulate large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Analyze and perform calculations across media consumption and advertising cost metrics.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to achieve client objectives.
  • Work closely with broader research, editorial, and communications teams to help support and inform project outcomes.
  • Support the development of innovative approaches and ideas to deliver communications solutions to clients.
  • Create intellectual capital, support business development initiatives, and participate in business development activities including whitepapers, proposals, and capability briefings.
Qualifications
  • Must be eligible to obtain a US Public Trust government security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
  • 4 years of experience in federal and/or private strategic communications.
  • 1-2 years of experience using data platforms/analytics to monitor media volume and analyze social media conversation: Zignal, Meltwater, CrowdTangle, Talkwalker, Cision, Brandwatch, or other similar tools.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Network Analysis, International Relations, Communications/PR, Political Science, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to collect, monitor and analyze data in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public relations best practices and core principles.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the planning and execution of a complex external communications plan for federal and/or private clients.
  • Experience leveraging various communications channels to deliver client messaging to federal and/or public audiences.
  • Experience developing talking points, writing speeches, and crafting blogs/social media posts for senior executive level clients.
  • Excellent proficiency in copyediting, proofreading, and common publishing platforms as well as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram.
  • Ability to work independently and in large delivery teams, prioritize workload to meet demands, and be well organized and proactive.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment with quick turnaround times.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues, multi-task while maintaining high attention to detail, and be willing and able to roll up sleeves and get work of all types done.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent deck-building/PowerPoint skills.
