A bit about the role:

The Content Strategist creates written, social media copy, aligns visual content with overall narratives and performs content audits or gap analyses to ensure the uniformity of content and its alignment with business goals across communications channels. The Content Strategist researches and stays abreast on the latest developments in terms of content trends and consumer behavior, updates content to meet content standards and ensures consistency across channels from websites to social media to video.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a content calendar of stories, project deadlines and content launch to help meet the content needs of the organization.
  • Works collaborative with leadership and team members in the development and launch of new content venues/channels.
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications vehicles, such as internal website, newsletters, and regular email communications, aligning with videographer and external communications team as needed.
  • Identify internal content that can be used for external communications and create integrated written pieces for social media, external website, blogs, and other communication channels.
  • Support internal communications strategy in conjunction with department\xe2\x80\x99s leadership.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to evaluate and optimize content assets, increase strategy effectiveness, lead generation and other KPIs.
  • Set editorial strategy so that content is consistent and compelling across all delivery streams.
  • Measuring and analyzing what\xe2\x80\x99s working and what isn\xe2\x80\x99t regarding the brand\xe2\x80\x99s content marketing efforts.
About You
  • Exceptional writing, editing and organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated track record of producing content assets that influence a target audience.
  • Familiarity with website publishing, content management systems.
  • Storytelling, knowledge of social media and other digital platforms.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; team-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, e-mail marketing tools, and photoshop.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate, kind, inclusive, and ethically minded.
  • Ability to engage with colleagues across time zones. Demonstrated ability to communicate complicated messages to diverse audiences.
  • Occasional domestic US travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree, or higher, in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or similar field.
  • 7 years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Creative, collaborative contributor with a can-do attitude and flexible to changing priorities.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Full fluency (verbal and written) of the English language; Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience working with Catholic organizations and culture is a plus but not a requirement.
