Job Description


With a variety of new products and a rapidly changing competitive landscape in mind, Homesite is hiring for a Product Analyst role on our cutting-edge competitive intelligence and product strategy team. We\'re looking for analyst level candidates with actuarial, analytical, or product backgrounds. We need your analytical rigor and business acumen as we continue to grow in volume and profitability. Your primary responsibilities will be to utilize market intelligence and competitive intelligence tools to support product management initiatives, as well as providing the company with information and recommendations regarding new products, new technologies, new market entrants, and other changes within the competitive landscape. Some opportunities on the Product Strategy team also involve roles on collaborative enterprise initiatives, new partner integrations, new distribution channel capabilities, and book rolls and acquisitions.
You must be self-motivated, and able to demonstrate interest in learning and participating in a fast-paced, analytical environment. This person will need to be an outside-the-box thinker, interested in pushing boundaries and developing new ways of analyzing, and capitalizing on, opportunities for Homesite to develop new products to meet a variety of partner and customer needs. You must be accustomed and willing to work on multiple tasks in parallel while ensuring accuracy of work product.

Compensation Minimum:$68,200 annual

Compensation Maximum:$125,600 annual

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

Responsibilities

  • Analytical Support: Support product and pricing decisions, working closely with analytics, catastrophe management, countrywide actuarial, state management, and partner management teams
  • Complete Deep Dive Analyses: Analyze our competitive position with an emphasis on pricing levels and product offerings relative to competitors
  • Market Research: Read competitor filings, earnings calls, insurtech blogs, and insurance-related publications to monitor the market and distribute relevant actions taken by competitors
  • Reporting and Database Functionality: Help develop reporting and database functionality for other teams to consume, maintain a library of all competitive information, and provide updates and in-depth analysis of new competitors and new technologies within the market
  • Project Management: Ability to work collaboratively across a variety of groups and operating companies, pushing work forward and gaining buy-in internally.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree, preferably in actuarial science, economics, mathematics, business or a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: a minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in Property & Casualty Insurance is preferred.
  • Code Based Language Experience: Experience with Python, R, SQL and SQL Server Management Studio is preferred.
  • Software Experience: Experience with data visualization programs like Tableau, Looker and Looker Studio preferred, intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Cloud Tools Experience: Experience with cloud tools such as GCP, AWS, BigQuery and GitLab preferred.
  • Structured & Logical Thinking: The ability to understand business problems, and determine and recommend appropriate frameworks to conduct analyses.
  • Analytical Rigor : Analyze product performance, identify additional areas of research, and recommend improvements.
  • Powerful Communication : The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly across a variety of media including facilitation and presenting results to management.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of customer, business industry, insurance, underwriting guidelines and risk concepts in area of expertise.
  • Basic knowledge of leveraging customer, market and competitor intelligence.
  • This position is available for remote work based on location
