Job Description

The Collaborative Development Director will lead and coordinate all philanthropic development efforts across Family Health Services, Inc. (FHSI), Choice Family Health Care, and People's Family Health Services. This position is designed to build a sustainable and shared fundraising infrastructure that supports each agency's ability to grow programs, retain staff, and enhance long-term financial stability in Nebraska's reproductive and family health care landscape.

Key Responsibilities



Design and implement an annual fundraising plan development plan (including events) aligned with the missions and strategic goals of FHSI, Choice, and People's. Design and implement a written, comprehensive major gifts and planned giving effort including identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and providing stewardship for donors. Increase overall support through growth of major gifts, by focusing on acquiring, renewing, and upgrading donors. Develop and maintain a portfolio of annual and major donors with attention to the donor cycle. Serve as the lead grant writer and prospect researcher for all three agencies, including shared and agency-specific opportunities. Lead the coordination and tracking of donor data across the organizations using cloud-based CRM or related systems. Facilitate joint and individual agency campaigns and funder engagement strategies, including scheduling site visits, co-authoring case statements, and preparing joint reports. Act as a thought partner with Executive Directors to identify opportunities for sustainable philanthropy, including quantitative and qualitative goals. Serve as a liaison to major institutional funders supporting collaborative projects or multi-agency initiatives. Create shared templates, calendars, messaging, and infrastructure to streamline the fundraising workflow across all three partners. Coordinate storytelling and program impact documentation with communications and outreach teams from each organization. Grant management for each agency.

Qualification



Minimum 5 years of successful experience in fundraising operations, including prospect research, acquiring and cultivating donors, and closing complex commitments that may include pledges, campaigns, planning gifts, investment options, and potential naming opportunities. This includes the ability to market the fundraising goals creatively and effectively. Strong commitment to reproductive justice, health equity, and culturally inclusive practices. Ability to work independently and also handle multiple collaborative projects and to discern and prioritize the relative importance of complex and competing interests. Excellent written, interpersonal, and strategic communication skills. Knowledge of Nebraska's philanthropic landscape or rural healthcare preferred. The knowledge of planned giving and the tax ramifications of such giving preferred. Participation in fundraising continuing education and/or participation in or leadership of fundraising professional organizations is preferred. Experience using donor databases, grant portals, and cloud-based collaboration tools.

Work Environment & Compensation

This is a remote-first position with regional travel across Southeast and Central Nebraska. Travel mileage is reimbursed at the federal rate and conferences and donor visits are fully funded.

Starting salary is $100,000. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, and critical illness insurance, unlimited sick leave, vacation accrual, 13 paid holidays, paid family leave, and a flexible schedule.
