Actalent is in search of a Clinical Pharmacist (Hawaii Licensed) to support our client. The role is an active/urgent hire.

Position Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacist\'s role is to provide the clinical expertise necessary for the Medical Management Department to effectively mange the clinical and financial impact of pharmacy services, which is done through pharmacy utilization management.

Essential Job Functions:

• Review prior authorization requests for specialty medications in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner.
• Promotes clinically appropriate prescribing behavior based on evidence-based medicine and national guideline\'s
• Serve as drug information resource for internal departments and provider offices.
• Implement and maintain pharmacy initiatives with the direction of leadership.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and medical directors to ensure appropriate and accurate coverage determinations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Licensure:

• Graduation from an accredited pharmacy program with a PharmD degree.
• Current/valid pharmacist license. (HAWAII)

Minimum Experience:

• 3 to 5 years in clinical pharmacy, including direct work experience in clinical settings.
• Experience with utilization management for Medicare Advantage plans preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Language/Communication Skills: Excellent telephone presence with organized follow-up skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong communication skills both written and verbal to work with multiple internal and external clients in a fast-paced environment
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
• Computer Skills: Ability to create and maintain documents using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
• Outlook, PowerPoint)

Assignment Details -

6+ Months (Could extend dependent on need)

REASON FOR NEED - Staff member going on FMLA leave for approx. 6 months

At least 20 hours a week (4 hour days) with minor fluctuation due to need.
