The Medical Assistant performs both clinical and clerical duties while working under the direction of a physician and physician's assistant. This position is responsible for coordinating transactions both on the phone and in person with patients and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work as a Medical Assistant Answer Nurses Phone line and responds promptly to urgent matters Takes Medical Histories Records Vital Signs Opens office visit notes and starts the documentation for the provider Prepares patients for examination Collect and prepare laboratory specimens Sterilize medical instruments Keeps waiting and exam rooms neat and clean Stocks exam rooms with necessary supplies

Skills and Abilities

Ability to assist in office procedures Ability to multi-task in a busy environment Must be able to interact professionally and politely with patients, staff, and doctors Ability to take vitals and patient history Utilize various computer technologies for patient information input Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions

Job Requirement:

High school diploma or equivalent Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent relevant working experience eClinicalworks (eCw) experience preferred 2 years' experience in a medical office preferred
