Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Los Angeles, CA! This position will oversee the daily operations of the Flow Cytometry department. The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of Clinical Lab Scientists, Lab Technicians and Lab Assistants. Tests performed in this department include diagnostics leukemia and lymphoma.

The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday, 4pm-12:30am.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the Flow Cytometry department, to ensure that specimens are properly shipped and received
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department
• Provide hands on back-up support to the testing personnel in the performance of all tests as required
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage
• Oversee preparation of reagents and validation of new test systems in the department
• Troubleshoot technical problems by instituting appropriate corrective actions and document all corrective actions taken
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
• Maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
• Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
• Assist in maintaining CAP, CA State, FDA, and other accreditation and regulatory agency standards and regulations
• Engage in continuous process and service improvement. Make and implement recommendations to improve operational efficiency and implement new services for areas of responsibility
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Current CA CLS license required. Generalist or Clinical Hematologist required
• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical lab experience in Flow Cytometry required, post completion of bachelor s degree
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Compliance experience with regulatory agencies such as CLIA and CAP
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including laboratory information systems
• Experience with accreditation inspections and writing and editing laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000
