Cataldo is the largest private EMS provider and private ambulance service in Massachusetts. In addition to topping 50,000 emergency medical transportations annually through 911 contacts with multiple cities, we partner with some of Massachusetts top medical facilities to provide non-emergency medical ambulance and wheelchair transportation services. We are also an EMS provider to specialty venues like Fenway Park, Warrior Arena, and TD Garden.

While Cataldo began as an ambulance service company, we continue to grow and expand the services we offer to the local communities. As a public health resource, Cataldo offers training and education to the healthcare and emergency medical community through the Cataldo Education Center. This includes certification training for new employees as well as the training needed for career advancement. Through our partnerships with local healthcare facilities, we have developed a mobile integrated health program, SmartCare, which provides in home treatment for patients. We also have delivered more than 1.6 million Covid-19 vaccines and continue to operate testing and vaccinations sites throughout the state of Massachusetts.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Field Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations which may include staffing, scheduling, ensuring maintenance of equipment and supplies, internal communications, budgetary considerations, outside agency interface, and community relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mentor employees conduct performance evaluations if applicable, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel with a goal of developing a team-oriented approach with positive results
  • Become a coach, teacher or evaluator on multi-casualty incidents with the goal of reviewing each call for continuous improvement and compliance with existing policies
  • Assist in driving performance management
  • Remain accessible by pager or phone during off duty time
  • Evaluate, discipline and recommend BLS and ALS field personnel for promotions
  • Ensure that all field personnel maintain all county or local agency required certifications and/or accreditation
  • Perform all duties of an EMT/Paramedic with high level of proficiency
  • Cover open shifts with appropriate employee assignments or by filling in as needed
  • Investigate incidents involving assigned units and communicate with the Operations Manager on status of assigned units and other problems
  • Assess daily staffing and equipment needs; assign replacements, and schedule service as necessary
  • Participate in interviewing and selection process as needed
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

  • Facilitate unit development and staffing in emergency situations and respond to the scene of mass casualty or unusual medical incidents as needed
  • Assure that all necessary payroll reports are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Submit reports on all incidents, accidents, work related injuries and exposures
  • Inspect all assigned stations, vehicles and equipment for cleanliness and Division maintenance
  • Attend external and internal meetings as may be necessary/required
  • Comply with all employment laws and support affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity goals
  • May perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Paramedic
  • Valid Paramedic Certifications in good standing
  • Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
  • Driving record in compliance with Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. policy regarding insurability
  • Effective administrative skills (paperwork, time management, etc.) and written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
  • Some advanced education preferred
