THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) is looking for a highly organized, customer-focused, and dedicated clerical professional to join their team in the Administrative Services Office. This clerical assistant 2 position provides clerical and office support to ensure bureau operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

You will thrive in this position if you have an eye for detail and are driven to support the public. No day is the same in this position, key duties include:

  • Assisting supervisors with maintaining agency automotive inventory records, billing/coding information, and related databases
  • Compiling information, preparing reports on pool vehicle information/use, and monitoring vehicle usage to ensure safety and maintenance standards are met for all vehicles
  • Coordinating with the Department of General Services (DGS) for automotive paperwork/requests for information
  • Scheduling and producing a large number and variety of printed materials for the department
  • Operating and maintaining bindery equipment for department (cutting machine and drill press) as well as maintaining a high-speed production copier
  • Serving as DCED\'s contact for disposal of confidential documents and assists supervisor with agency record transfers to the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission\'s (PHMC) State Record Center

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Able to move/lift equipment and boxes weighing up to 60lbs.
