Job Summary

Position:

General Day Porters and Night Cleaners

Schedule: Flexible between 5 to 7 days per week, 4 to 8 hours per day depending on building needs

You must start between 6:00 AM or 8:00 PM, depending on the shift (day porter or night cleaner).
All tasks must be completed within your assigned shift.

Compensation:

General Cleaning:

$18.00/hour

Annual Raise:

$1.00 increase after one year of consistent, issue-free performance

Job Duties

We are seeking a dedicated cleaner to join our team and maintain the cleanliness of commercial buildings, including offices, public areas, lobbies, restrooms, and common spaces. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow a structured cleaning rotation across high-traffic areas and amenities.

Daily Priority Areas

(High-Traffic & Frequent Use)

Empty trash and recycling containers, replace liners, and wipe trash cans Vacuum and mop entrances, lobbies, corridors, elevators, and stairwells Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors Wipe down surfaces, furniture, counters, and fixtures Spot clean walls, doors, switch plates, and moldings as needed Sanitize door handles, railings, and high-touch areas Police floors for spills and debris, spot clean carpet stains Clean glass areas in entrances and common spaces

Periodic Tasks

(As Needed or Scheduled)

High dust vents, ceilings, and furniture (monthly) Detail vacuum upholstered furniture and carpet edges (monthly) Heavy scrub floors and restrooms (semi-annually) Carpet extraction and upholstery cleaning (semi-annually) Power wash or deep clean as required

Additional Notes

Shifts may vary between day (porter duties like ongoing spot cleaning during business hours) and night (deeper cleaning after hours). Garbage collection and outdoor areas included as needed. Deep dusting of all floors scheduled monthly. Any spills, unusual messes, or client concerns must be addressed immediately.

Qualifications

Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience required. Ability to follow structured schedules and maintain consistent cleaning standards. Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Comfortable with physical tasks (vacuuming multiple floors, managing supplies).
