The Child Nutrition Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of children through effective nutrition management. This position involves overseeing the dietary department, developing care plans, and implementing nutrition programs tailored to the needs of children in various settings, including assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of nutrition and dietetics, and experience in managing dietary operations.
Duties
Supervise and manage the dietary department to ensure compliance with health regulations and standards.
Conduct patient assessments to evaluate nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans.
Implement tube feeding protocols and monitor patient responses to ensure optimal nutrition.
Perform diagnostic evaluations to identify nutritional deficiencies and recommend appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide health coaching and education on nutrition.
Oversee budgeting for the dietary department, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining high-quality service.
Lead a team of dietary staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
Stay updated on current trends in nutrition, physiology, and dietary practices to ensure best practices are followed.
Experience
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a dietary or nutrition setting.
Background in assisted living or similar environments preferred.
Strong knowledge of nutrition principles, dietetics, and physiology.
Experience with patient assessment techniques and developing care plans tailored to individual needs.
Familiarity with budgeting processes related to food service operations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
Health coaching experience is a plus, as well as any additional certifications related to nutrition management.
