Job Summary:

The Chaplain PRN, in conjunction with UT College of Medicine and/or Oncology Services and the Erlanger Pastoral Care Department and Clinical Pastoral Education programs will provide pastoral care and support to and for identified patients, families and staff of Erlanger Health System. As a member of the oncology multidisciplinary healthcare team, the chaplain will establish pastoral relationships; provide spiritual care, assessments, counseling, research and education on clinical outcomes for identified patients/families along the continuum of care as assigned. The chaplain will report to the Director of Pastoral Care with assigned accountabilities within UT College of Medicine and/or Oncology services.



Education:

Required:


Master of Divinity or equivalent theological degree from an accredited school of theology or ministry.



Preferred:




Experience:

Required: Satisfactory completion of minimum four units of clinical pastoral education which are accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.



Ordination or commissioning for ministry by a recognized religious group within one year.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required:


Board Certified with the Association for Professional Chaplains or eligible for board certification within two years. (This certification requires a college degree, a master's level theological degree or equivalent, clinical training in chaplaincy, ordination or commissioning for ministry by a recognized religious group, a current endorsement for chaplaincy by a recognized religious group and appearance before a national certifying commission for assessment of competency.)
