\xe2\x80\x93 Certified Peer Support Specialist Position Summary, Wright Step Counseling and Recovery, LLC is looking for a Certified Peer Support Specialist who is excited and motivated to assist others in their journey toward recovery. If you are an individual who is well-grounded in your own recovery of mental health concerns, trauma, or other lived experience you can help others through sharing your story. Peer specialists are essential team members who provide valuable insight as part of the collection of services offered at our agency. The requirements for the position are below: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Provide peer coaching and mentoring in individual and/or group settings on a weekly basis \xc2\xb7 Interested in and capable of providing services via telehealth and/or in person. \xc2\xb7 Able to maintain ethical, professional boundaries and conduct in the delivery of services. \xc2\xb7 Provide recovery, education and support to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance addictions. \xc2\xb7 Write daily progress notes for each peer support contact and mental health service. \xc2\xb7 Instruct clients in problem-solving, daily living, self-management, and connecting with community supports. \xc2\xb7 Monitor goals, achievements and agreements of clients and formally review their recovery plan every 90 days. \xc2\xb7 Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings and Supervisory Meetings as required. \xc2\xb7 Able to maintain own client schedule and coordinate scheduling with client, hours will vary depending on client load and availability. \xc2\xb7 Skilled in maintaining accurate and timely records and capable of completing all documentation in a timely manner. \xc2\xb7 Prepare and maintain charts in accordance with audit requirements. \xc2\xb7 Willing to allow time to build a caseload (time periods may vary based on desired client load/availability). \xc2\xb7 Willing to undergo a background check, drug testing and provide professional references for contact. \xc2\xb7 Maintain updated CEU\xe2\x80\x99s and annual ethical trainings and keep up to date with current information and developments. Education/Experience: \xc2\xb7 Minimum of High School Diploma or GED \xc2\xb7 Strong Interpersonal and Organizational skills License, Certifications or Registration: \xc2\xb7 Certified as a Peer Support Specialist (as determined by BPA Health) \xc2\xb7 Has been in recovery for a minimum of one year \xc2\xb7 Pass a criminal background check with Idaho Department of Health and Welfare \xc2\xb7 Pass a pre-employment drug test \xc2\xb7 No more than 2 driving violations within the past 3 years \xc2\xb7 No DUI or reckless driving within the last 5 years \xc2\xb7 Must possess a valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and liability insurance \xc2\xb7 Associate Degree in a Human Services related field preferred Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: \xc2\xb7 Ability to read, speak, understand, analyze and interpret documents such as client safety/treatment plans, assessment materials and procedure manuals in the English language. \xc2\xb7 Ability to write professional notes/emails reports and correspondence. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to function independently and be able to seek guidance when necessary to assist in working with children and families. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and web browsers effectively. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV). \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of a variety of therapeutic interventions and models emphasizing empirically validated interventions. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of child/adolescent development. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of child abuse and substance abuse issues. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of legal/ethical issues and concerns. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of mandated reporting responsibilities and limits of confidentiality. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of family dynamics. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of anger management and coping skills. \xc2\xb7 Basic knowledge of psychotropic medications. \xc2\xb7 Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in an efficient manger. \xc2\xb7 Excellent problem-solving skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to relate to children and families in a positive manner. \xc2\xb7 Ability to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries with children and families. \xc2\xb7 Understand and respond to diverse population. Physical Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands or talk or hear. Fine motor skills such as typing, the use of a computer mouse and telephone handset is required. Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
