Certified Fire Investigator (Must be certified by the International Association of Arson Investigators) As a Fire Investigator with US Forensic you will: \xc2\xb7 Evaluate residential and commercial properties to determine the origin and cause of fires. This entails assessing whether the fire is a result of a construction defect, material, equipment, appliance failure, lack of maintenance, third party contribution, or arson. \xc2\xb7 Work from your home office about 50% of the time and conduct site visits about 50% of the time. You will not be required to go to an office regularly. \xc2\xb7 Set your own schedule while working a 40-hour week which includes travel time to sites with only occasional overtime. \xc2\xb7 Travel to site visits that are mostly local to you, with only occasional overnight travel. \xc2\xb7 Not just sit at a desk all week but perform inspections that involve physical activity. \xc2\xb7 Write professional, concise reports that require analytical abilities. \xc2\xb7 Be part of an organization with a wide range of Forensic Engineering expertise and Metallurgy, Chemical Analysis, Materials Testing, Weld Testing, Roof Inspection, Electron Microscopy, Seismic Testing, Environmental Testing, Computed Tomography, Calibration and Non-Destructive Testing capabilities. \xc2\xb7 Be part of a rapidly growing organization with around 150 Professional Engineers across many disciplines. \xc2\xb7 Gain knowledge through structured third-party training, on the job training and a mentorship program. \xc2\xb7 Have competitive compensation and competitive benefits program including company paid full Medical, Dental, STD, LTD, Life and AD&D insurance. Requirements: \xc2\xb7 A CFI or CFEI certification is required. \xc2\xb7 Experience in investigating the origin and cause of fires. \xc2\xb7 Experience in investigating vehicle or heavy equipment fires is preferred. \xc2\xb7 Ability to analyze various accidents to determine causation \xc2\xb7 Ability to write professional, concise reports. \xc2\xb7 Ability to conduct investigations that will require standing, walking, climbing, entering confined spaces, working outside in various weather conditions at different times of the day or night.
