Description of Position: This position will also be cross-trained with reception staff at each clinic and will be required to work a Saturday rotation approximately one Saturday out of seven. Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner. Takes messages and documents in EHR for appropriate staff/provider. Directs calls to appropriate staff members. Collects payments and forwards to the Business Office. Schedules new and return appointments per protocols of the providers. Explains billing policies and refers patients without insurance to the SHIP coordinator. Maintains a positive, working relationship with office/clinic staff members and providers. Verifies insurance and demographics. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: High school graduate or equivalent Experience: One year healthcare experience in clinic or hospital setting preferred Job Knowledge: Experience with multi-line phone preferred. Special Demands: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written reports.
