As a Category Manager-Indirect you will develop and execute sourcing strategies for higher financial impact/risk for our Indirect spend: Supplier selection, both locally and globally; Management of supplier relationship, and agreements; and Collaboration with suppliers to drive improvements, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

This leadership position reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing. This role is considered a HYBRID position, with periodic onsite work at our North American headquarters in Apple Valley, MN.

What will you do?

• Manage the sourcing and procurement scope of indirect buy across the organization, including services, equipment, supplies, fleet management, facilities, maintenance and repairs, apparel, promotional items, travel, packaging, etc.
• Develop strong relationships and collaborate directly with internal stakeholders at all levels within the organization to understand requirements, manage-buy in, and align with Uponor\'s procurement strategies.
• Lead and drive sourcing projects to successful completion by performing market analysis, the RFX process, negotiations, contract creation and contract management.
• Drive cost-savings initiatives and vendor performance to align with company goals.
• Determine Total Cost of Ownership for products and services procured.
• Submit purchase orders for raw materials, monitor the movement of product to receipt, establish priorities to meet customer orders, and resolve shipping or billing issues.
• Partner with Legal to review/redline contracts and agreements for buy categories.
• Enhance processes to align with Policies and implement changes with business partners.
• Align p2p systems to flow with revised policies.
• Manage a cross functional team for supplier identification and evaluation according to the Strategic Supplier Program criteria and product specification.
• Provide work direction and training for a team of professionals in the areas of Sourcing Specialist and Buyers; utilizing and driving best in practice processes, team development and management.
• Collaborate with European colleagues for category projects and supplier alignments.
• Collaborate with the Uponor Business through IBP meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews.; which will require a deep understanding of financial impacts to the business.
• Seek out opportunities to contribute to the business success through initiative-taking involvement in team initiatives.

• Analyze key market trends as it relates to Sourcing specialist to assist in making sourcing decisions (costing, number of suppliers, types of suppliers, etc.)

This position engages in the budgeting process for both capital and expense. This position has a high focus on internal and external collaborations

What will you do?

• Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Business, engineering, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• Ten (10) plus years of related experience in progressive positions that includes managing suppliers and teams of sourcing and supplier development, Process development and implementation.
• Strong demonstration of working through change. Providing results while building long term solutions.
• Drive purchasing discipline and compliance with internal stakeholders.
• Must have strong oral, written, and interpersonal skill for dealing with internal customers and external suppliers.
• Superb ability to organize and prioritize work, as well as meet stringent deadlines with minimal resources.
• Demonstrated ability to think and produce results at the strategic level. Certificates, Licenses, and registrations:

CPSM, APICS, Supply Chain Management-preferred; but not required.
