Position Summary

We\xe2\x80\x99re a leader in the pet care category and part of the world\xe2\x80\x99s largest food company\xe2\x80\x94so you can imagine our salesforce is BIG. In pet care, we focus our sales efforts within the retail and veterinary sales channels to ensure we\xe2\x80\x99re at the forefront of consumers\xe2\x80\x99 minds. You\xe2\x80\x99ll become the expert in our products and the face behind Purina brands to your customers\xe2\x80\x94some of the most well recognized and loved brands around world.
It takes ALL of us to do what we do at a world-class level, but it\xe2\x80\x99s the insights, data, and subject matter expertise our Category Analysts bring to the table that makes us a long-standing leader in the larger Pet Care Category. We give you the high charge of helping develop and present customer omni-business plans, providing financial analysis, leveraging analytical data/insights, and developing category plans to achieve overall category growth around sales, market share, and profit objectives. You\xe2\x80\x99ll partner closely with a Category Manager to grow the category in a variety of ways, including physical and digital environments. Your collective experiences at Purina will far surpass your achievements in growing category sales.

  • Deliver consistent, detailed, and accurate category analysis (4P) overview
  • Provide timely, value-added insights, and recommendations to the customer that develops proper relations, rapport, and helps achieve category and customer objectives
  • Utilize syndicated data, consumer data (loyalty and point of sale), internal data, and shopper data to uncover opportunities and provide analytical recommendations
  • Work cross-functionally to drive action and implementation
  • Strong initiative & ability to perform in ambiguous environment
  • Leads work on setting the visual store set and digital shelf recommendations
  • Owns Modular (plan-o-gram) item maintenance to ensure data integrity
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic omnichannel category business plans, including business, market, competitive, and shopper trends
  • Partner with Category Managers to perform omnichannel category/brand analysis for the retail customer



Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree from an accredited institution
  • 1+ years\xe2\x80\x99 of experience in category development, business analytics, store/merchandising/distribution, or marketing



Other
  • Experience working on Digital/eCommerce is preferred
  • Experience with syndicated and shopper data (Nielsen, IRI, Retail Link, Luminate, MADRID, PowerBI) is preferred
  • Experience working with larger retailers is preferred
  • ProSpace (or other space management) skills is preferred
