MISSION CONTRIBUTION: To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the DGR through the security of corporate assets, customer relations, sale of donated goods, and accurate cash register operations in order to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities. SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager is responsible for customer service, cash register sales, facility security and maintenance, greeting and assisting customers, bagging/wrapping merchandise, displaying merchandise, cleaning cash wrap area, counters, and front of the store, hanging, stocking shelves and rotating merchandise. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. A cashier is responsible for greeting customers both via phone or in-person in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner, offering assistance to customers with the goal of providing 100% customer delight. 2. Operates the POS to ensure accurate and efficient sales data, price, and information codes on merchandise. 3. Ensures proper cash handling of all transactions including proper processing of coupons and discounts. 4. Responsible to ensure the integrity of our \xe2\x80\x9cChange round-up\xe2\x80\x9d program where all customers must be asked to round up the change from each transaction to fuel the mission of GSM within the communities that we serve. 5. Cleans front doors, counters and glass frequently, dust cases, keeps front of store clean, returns shopping carts and baskets to appropriate areas, and returns unsold merchandise to the proper area. 6. Assists with promotions to include customer information, postings, special sign displays, etc. 7. Stocks and maintains counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition at all times. 8. Works in a safe manner, adheres to proper handling of material movement equipment and communicates any safety hazards or concerns. 9. Assists in training new cashiers. 10. Cleans dressing rooms and re-hang clothes as needed. 11. Places apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., onto sales floor in correct location and rotate merchandise from sales floor as needed. 12. Adheres to all DGR and personnel policies and procedures; follow good safety practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Store Manager and/or designee. 13. Maintains DGR security, relating to theft or pilferage and handling of cash receipts, according to DGR policies and procedures. 14. The image of the store reflects Goodwill, the manager/assistant store manager, and the team. \xc2\xb7 Donors should be greeted in 10 seconds. \xc2\xb7 We are committed to a full store with full inventory. \xc2\xb7 Every time we touch a donation, something good should happen to it. \xc2\xb7 All donations should be processed within 24 hours. \xc2\xb7 If you have a pile, you have a problem. \xc2\xb7 Hard goods should be priority processed. \xc2\xb7 Material handling equipment is for moving donations, not storage. \xc2\xb7 Don\xe2\x80\x99t fall in love with your donations\xe2\x80\xa6 rotation is critical to success. \xc2\xb7 Donor Value should increase. \xc2\xb7 Profits should increase. 15. May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill. 16. Attends in-service and related training as assigned by Store Manager or designee. 17. Performs other duties as assigned by Store Manager or designee. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \xc2\xb7 High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred \xc2\xb7 Prior experience in a retail environment preferred \xc2\xb7 6 months Cashiering experience preferred \xc2\xb7 Good interpersonal skills and customer service \xc2\xb7 Ability to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation \xc2\xb7 Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with team leader, team members, customers and donors. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work within a team situation. \xc2\xb7 Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: \xc2\xb7 Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends, on a rotating schedule or work schedule based on business needs PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: \xc2\xb7 Able to stand, bend and reach. \xc2\xb7 Able to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move up to twenty-five (25) pounds with no support regularly. Sales Floor Support \xe2\x80\x93 (Meets production standards as needed ensuring fresh inventory) 8.
