JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Case Manager/Navigator/Senior Navigator/Lead

Department: Alaska Native Justice Center (ANJC)

Reports To: Program Manager

Supervises: None

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: N4 (Case Manager, Navigator), N5 (Senior Navigator), N6 (Lead)

Job Type: Full-Time, Regular

General Functions:

The Case Manager/Navigator/Senior Navigator/Lead provides case management and related services to Alaska Native Justice Center (ANJC) clients. This position works in close partnership with ANJC Staff Attorneys and Paralegals to provide complimentary case management to victims and survivors of crime, including domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, dating violence and stalking. A successful applicant will have a background in case management, communicating and interacting effectively in cross-cultural situations and a commitment to race equity work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Case Manager/Navigator

  • Support clients in identifying their needs, setting goals, and developing a structured plan for achieving those goals.
  • Provide case management services including the creation of a safety plan, problem solving to meet the basic needs of the client, provision of temporary supportive services such as bus passes, food and rental assistance if available, and the provision of other necessary services to ensure the client is safe and supported.
  • Help clients connect to housing support services, physical and behavioral health care services, and substance abuse treatment, as needed.
  • Support clients\' applications to various benefits programs and support clients at hearings, appointments, and mediation sessions.
  • Develop relationships and engage in collaboration with a range of community partners, including governmental agencies, courts, and community-based organizations, to ensure integrative services and address systemic barriers facing ANJC\xe2\x80\x99s client community.
  • Assist with technical and educational support to clients including assistance with court filings, court records requests and research.
  • Assist in the development of relationships with community partners and the facilitation of community partner meetings
  • Participate in community outreach and events to promote awareness of ANJC and our services
  • Develop and present program-related trainings and presentations
  • Obtain, track, and document all relevant information for grant reporting purposes
  • Participate in grant required meetings and webinars
  • Attend and actively participate in department meetings and trainings
  • Maintain confidentiality according to law, regulation, policies, and procedures
  • Engage as part of a multi-disciplinary team in other tasks and projects that further ANJC\xe2\x80\x99s mission and operations.
  • Perform all related duties as assigned
Case Manager/Senior Navigator
  • Perform all functions of a Case Manager/Navigator with a higher-level of proficiency and responsibility
  • Responsible for managing cases of increasing complexity
Case Manager/Lead
  • Performs all functions of a Case Manager/Senior Navigator with a higher level of proficiency and responsibility
  • Mentors, trains and supports new and current staff
  • Create onboarding/training plan for new staff including maintaining an onboarding checklist
  • Responsible for managing cases of maximum complexity
  • Assists Program Manager with staff evaluations and provide feedback as appropriate
  • Attends high-level community stakeholder meetings

  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence/sexual assault, interpersonal violence and Human Trafficking and victims of crime

Minimum Qualifications:

Case Manager/Navigator
  • Associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or Vocational Education and/or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • One to two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in social services, workforce development, vocational counseling or education, or related experience.
Case Manager/Senior Navigator
  • Associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or Vocational Education and/or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in social services, workforce development, vocational counseling or education, or related experience.
Case Manager/Lead
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or Vocational Education and/or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in social services, workforce development, vocational counseling or education, or related experience.
Minimum Qualifications at all Levels:
  • Valid Alaska driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and insurable under CITC\xe2\x80\x99s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age; have reliable transportation and be willing/able to travel.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon results of a state and federal background check.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily works in an office setting, with extended periods of time at a desk and on a computer.
