Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed cardiology team at New Orleans East Hospital. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive cardiovascular care, including patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning within a dynamic clinical environment. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings, including acute care, telemetry, and post-acute management. The position requires a strong foundation in physiology knowledge, medication administration, and patient assessment to ensure optimal outcomes for diverse patient populations.

Duties



Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments focusing on cardiovascular health Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clinical research data and current best practices Collaborate with physicians in case management, utilization review, and treatment adjustments for complex cases. Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems. Ensure infection control protocols are followed during all procedures including aseptic technique and infection prevention measures

Qualifications



Master's degree or higher in Nursing with certification as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiology or Internal Medicine Valid state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with prescriptive authority Some experience treating patients in outpatient / inpatient setting. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding essential Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and medical imaging modalities Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments including ICU experience or Level II trauma center experience preferred. Excellent communication skills for working with diverse populations including children (pediatrics), elderly (geriatrics), patients with disabilities or developmental disabilities

Pay: $99,301.96 - $119,589.46 per year
