SUMMARY The Cannabis Banking Support Specialist (\xe2\x80\x9cSupport Specialist\xe2\x80\x9d) supports Cannabis Relationship Specialists (\xe2\x80\x9cRelationship Specialists\xe2\x80\x9d) in creating and maintaining effective and profitable relationships with Cannabis and cash intensive businesses. The Support Specialist will often serve as the primary contact for Cannabis entities and will initiate contact to ensure the entities meet due diligence requirements for reporting, renewals, and changes in structure or ownership. Creates documents for treasury and account products and performs maintenance of the core system. Serves as a point of coordination for document creation and assistance with Treasury Support, BSA, and Greencheck. When possible, the Support Specialist will assist in contacting Cannabis referrals to verify active interest before passing referrals to the Relationship Specialists.

  • Assists in analyzing client\xe2\x80\x99s deposit relationships, treasury functions, and cash flow when developing customized treasury services proposals.
  • Communicates with business owners, CFOs, and Controllers to ensure proper completion of maintenance on accounts and documents due to changes in the entity\xe2\x80\x99s structure.
  • Coordinates with Treasury Relationship Managers for document creation due to changes in entity structure.
  • Serves as the primary liaison to Cannabis entities to ensure due diligence, regulatory compliance, reporting, and client transparency.
  • Must be an expert in utilization of software required to meet compliance and due diligence requirements.
  • Contacts prospects to ensure they are valid referrals before reassigning them to Cannabis Relationship Specialists.
  • Ensures the preparation and collection of documentation required for regulatory compliance, due diligence, and approval of existing clients, including cash-intensive businesses.
  • Assists with the completion of applications for ACH Origination, credit memorandums, and Master Treasury Agreements.
  • Communicates effectively with colleagues in support departments to ensure thorough implementation of services and excellent support to clients.
  • Serves as a point of contact and support to business clients regarding treasury products.
  • Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships with all departments of the Bank.
  • Identifies referral opportunities for other Bank services, such as commercial lending, merchant services, and investments.
  • Provides competitive information on products and services to the product development officer.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of the job.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrated success working in a self-directed environment with little supervision.
  • 1 - 3 years banking experience preferred.
  • Experience selling and/or supporting treasury management services preferred.
  • High risk business experience with a focus on cannabis is a plus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in finance-related field (Finance, Accounting, or Economics) preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS, ABILITIES, CHARACTERISTICS):
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial depository and treasury management products.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial credit risks.
  • An outgoing and likable personality with the confidence and ability to professionally speak with, and make presentations to, corporate executives, prospective clients, Bank management, and sales teams.
  • Solid team player; must possess the ability to partner with all Bank associates to support existing clients.
  • Excellent active listening, verbal and written communication and rapport building skills.
  • Must be a confident and authoritative speaker with effective presentation skills.
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be an organized, self-motivated, persistent individual with the ability to make decisions, resolve problems, and work independently.
  • Strong PC and software application skills. Experience using SalesForce a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of all bank operating systems.
