Job Summary





Minneapolis College is seeking a full-time, permanent Public Safety Officer (2nd shift) for employment in the Public Safety department. This posiiton is in the Campus Security Officer job classification.

This position works as part of a team to foster and maintain a safe environment, monitor safety and security concerns, and be a contact person for emergency personnel at Minneapolis College buildings and surrounding property. The individual in this position also provides lead work direction for student employee - Student Safety Monitors.

Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of experience as a Security Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, or Peace Officer
  • Associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Law Enforcement, Paralegal or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in above areas may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to pass FBI/BCA background check free from convictions or felony and/or misdemeanor violations.
  • Must be in good standing with Minneapolis College (MCTC).
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State\'s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
