Job Description


The Campus Planner provides professional support for the university\'s planning activities in matters related to the physical development of the campus, including campus master planning, space, building and site programming, strategic facilities planning, and project development and management. Undertakes planning studies in various areas of campus development. Manages the planning and pre-design phases of new construction, renovation and campus improvement projects. Utilizes knowledge of campus planning, space programming, and design and construction processes. Coordinates the efforts of internal and external planning and design professionals. Assists in the development and implementation of the university\'s Master Plan.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Knowledge of the principles and practices of campus planning in specific areas such as space programming, master planning, land use suitability, site analysis, sustainability and urban design.

2. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; ability to prioritize work, anticipate and meet established deadlines, as well as, perform duties at other than normal working hours and days as required by project schedules.

3. Excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to interact professionally and courteously with internal and external contacts at all levels.

Required Education and/or Experience

1. Bachelor\'s degree in Architecture, Planning/Management, Urban Planning or Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.

2. Five years\' practical experience in planning, architecture, landscape architecture or related areas, to Include experience utilizing planning, design related and project management software programs.
Preferred Qualifications

1. Master\'s degree in Architecture, Planning/Management, Urban Planning or Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.

2. Eight years\' practical experience in planning, architecture, landscape architecture or related areas. * Green Associate, LEED AP, or credential required within 12 months of employment.
