Cafeteria Monitor (Part-Time - 15 hours per week/no benefits)

School Principal and Food Service Director
SALARY
: $18.00 per Hour (AFSCME Union)

Three (3) hours per day (Hours arranged by the Principal)
Cafeteria Monitor Reports to Building Principal & Food Service Director
General Duties: To supervise students, support the Food Services operation in the cafeteria during lunch periods, and other related task.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and assist students during meal periods and follow school protocols when needed.
Cafeteria Operations Clean cafeteria tables between lunch periods
Check daily and assist students that have restrictions for dietary or physical needs
Encourage appropriate behavior and interactions; refer students to the administrator on duty
when necessary
Understand and adhere to all district policies and procedures
Ensure the safety of students in the cafeteria
Apply proper sanitation and safety requirements associated with food operations
Work independently with minimal supervision
Establish and maintain professional work relationships with those contacted in the
performance of required duties
Attend in-service training and workshops when required
Perform other functions as needed.
Required:
Must pass Massachusetts criminal background check.
Proof of U.S. citizenship
Prior experience in a school environment with an understanding of student behavior.
Fluent (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in both English and Spanish or Portuguese preferred
