Position Overview

We are looking for a

Shop Lead

to oversee day-to-day operations in our cabinet manufacturing shop. The ideal candidate is an experienced cabinetmaker with strong leadership and organizational skills, capable of managing both people and production flow. This role is hands-on--you'll work alongside the team while ensuring quality standards, safety, and efficiency are maintained.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily shop operations, ensuring production goals and deadlines are met Supervise and support a small team of cabinetmakers, finishers, and assemblers Review and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and material takeoffs Oversee quality control and ensure products meet design specifications and craftsmanship standards Manage inventory, materials, and workflow between machining, assembly, and finishing areas Train and mentor team members on techniques, safety, and best practices Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Collaborate with the design team to resolve production challenges and improve processes Occasionally drive company vehicle and trailer to job sites

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in custom cabinetmaking, woodworking, or millwork production Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a shop environment Strong knowledge of cabinet construction methods, materials, and hardware Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Skilled in operating woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
