Position Description:





The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and optimizing the SAP S/4HANA system by translating business requirements into effective technical solutions. This role includes providing ongoing production support to ensure system stability, resolve issues, and maintain uninterrupted business operations. The analyst is actively involved across the full project lifecycle--gathering requirements, contributing to solution design, performing hands-on configuration, and supporting testing, implementation, and post-go-live activities.



Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical developers, the Business Systems Analyst I ensures solutions meet user needs and align with operational goals, particularly in supply chain and warehouse functions. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential for success.

Primary Responsibilities:




Builds positive working relationships with assigned business teams and acts as a point of contact between business users and IT resources. Supports business teams in identifying improvement opportunities and helps document clear business requirements and functional specifications for the technical team. Supports the design phase by reviewing solution designs, actively learning business processes, and raising any concerns about potential process impacts. Performs hands-on configuration of the system based on approved requirements. Participates in integration and unit testing to help ensure solutions work as intended. Helps develop and follow testing plans to validate system changes. Assists in creating project documentation and training materials, supports go-live activities, and helps with knowledge transfer to end users and support staff. Follows project and department policies, completes required documentation, and provides updates on project progress as needed. Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team and project goals.



Physical & Work Requirements:




0 to 60% travel as required May require evening or weekend work



Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:




Basic understanding of system configuration with a willingness to develop hands-on technical skills Ability to gather and clearly document business requirements and functional specifications Familiarity with SAP process flows and integration concepts Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail Excellent communication skills, able to effectively collaborate with both technical and business teams Highly motivated with a strong desire to learn, grow, and deepen knowledge in business systems Proficient in creating clear and accurate documentation Ability to work independently and manage tasks responsibly Adaptable and flexible in responding to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Energetic, driven, and eager to take on new challenges Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience




Preferred but not required:




Experience supporting SAP systems or business processes Master data management Steel industry experience
