J.P. Morgan\'s Middle Market Financial Sponsors Group (MM FSG) is looking for highly talented and driven individuals to be part of a tremendous growth opportunity. The MM FSG team covers private equity firms focused on small and mid-sized assets and is uniquely positioned to deliver the full value of J.P. Morgan\'s deep and broad platform across Mergers & Acquisition, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Direct Lending and the full suite of Corporate and Commercial Banking solutions.

MM FSG is one of the fastest growing business units and a key strategic initiative across both Commercial and Investment Banking. Segmentation has been a key to our success and with a dedicated pool of resources solely focused on middle market Private Equity (PE) firms, we aim to build the best middle-market sponsor franchise in North America.

MM FSG is looking for an Executive Director to join its business development team. You will be responsible for deal team management on leveraged buyout (LBO) financing requests and driving strategic dialogue with founder-owners on growth and ownership transition planning, including making targeted introductions to potential capital investors. This team also frequently interacts with investment banking partners to provide buyer intelligence for IB mergers and acquisitions and private placement processes.

Preferred location for the position is New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles, but other locations can be considered.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of ten years or equivalent sales, management, or transaction experience in commercial banking, investment banking, or private equity
  • Proficient with private capital market transaction dynamics, including complex ownership scenarios, firm valuation, and equity investment deal structures
  • Risk and control mindset with a commercial approach to handling Conflicts matters
  • Executive presence with internal senior management and Chief Executive Officer/founder-owners alike; strong verbal and written communication / presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to manage and direct competing priorities
  • Experienced self-starter who readily adapts to evolving needs and situations
  • Coordinate with product partners across the firm to deliver the best client solution
  • Independent producer skilled at identifying opportunities where not readily evident
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
  • Series 79, 63, and SIE licenses required (or obtain in first 90 days of employment)
