Advanced Supply Analytics & Design drives the vision and delivery of solutions to maximize healthcare affordability through the provider profiling and tiered network products for steerage to high performing providers. This role will lead advanced analytics and data science focused on the identification of high performing providers to enable steerage, geo-access, network adequacy & design of competitively affordable network products. Additionally this role will collaborate on advanced analytics roadmap including working with the Data Science Center of Expertise to progress technical and methodological capabilities using the Analytics Platform. This role will provide insights, influence business strategy, and execute in partnership with stakeholders, product management and IT via agile delivery teams.

Role Summary

This person will be an individual contributor responsible for conducting advanced network & provider profiling analytics, generating actionable insights and resources while working with agile development teams to scale solutions for maximum business impact.

Responsibilities Include:

Execute and apply advanced analytical techniques to deploy robust valuation improvement focused on cost, quality and access Execute effective and externally defensible provider performance methodologies to drive steerage Execute on effective prediction and monitoring of results from our provider networks Closely partner with business (Network Strategy, Risk Management & Affordability, Provider Management) to set and deploy high value analytics enhancements Present analytic findings and recommendations to non-technical business partners and leadership to drive data driven strategies Propose and develop KPIs and operationalize solutions into a coded protoype/MVP Ask questions and collaborate to solve problems in team environment Explore innovative solutions to business questions/problems

Qualifications & Competencies Required

This position requires healthcare and insurance content knowledge, advanced analytics and data science expertise, comfort with advanced analytics toolkit (SQL, Python/R), and leadership ability. This position will drive market value by participating in a highly matrixed structure with business stakeholders and Agile model that enables and evolves new concepts and ideas to supercharge Evernorth's Affordability strategy.

Minimum of an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Epidemiology or equivalent work experience 3+ years' of healthcare analytics industry experience solving business problems through the application of descriptive, diagnostic and prescriptive analytics approaches. Ability to think from statistical perspective - significance testing, confidence intervals, bias and variance - is required

Healthcare Analytics expertise -

3+ years of hands on experience with healthcare data (e.g., claims, eligibility, profiling, EMR), statistical and observational studies, 1+ years of experience and training with advanced analytics techniques like episode groupers (Optum ETG, EBM, ERG, Prometheus etc.), provider profiling, network adequacy, steerage analytics, geo-spatial & social network analytics, risk adjustments etc.

Technical expertise -

Strong technical skills and hands on experience required to extract, transpose, and analyze administrative healthcare claims housed in cloud based Analytics Platform using advanced tools including SQL, Python, R; experience with or willingness to learn Git/Github preferred

Healthcare subject matter expertise -

2+ years of experience of direct industry experience through conferences and relationship management, strong healthcare and / or health plan business acumen for developing actionable guidance using key metrics communicated in an easy to understand manner, demonstrated understanding of health care and delivery system processes, strong clinical knowledge and applications into relevant analytics Ability to consistently deliver on-time while managing multiple projects at the same time Ability to successfully navigate and contribute in a highly-matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders from across the organization Go Getter who enjoys problem solving and creating innovative solutions and visions working with various business stakeholders Strong verbal/written communication and leadership skills to work with various matrix partners, including but not limited to clinical, actuarial, medical economics, contracting, business, marketing, and IT/IM.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 96,000 - 160,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
