Blu Omega is a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) IT services firm. We provide Technology solutions for enterprise and government customers. Our team works with the best of the best in Cloud, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps and Data Analytics. This work is primarily remote & requires candidate to be eligible for a public trust background check as a precondition of employment. Badging/Equipment pickup will be required initially in Bethesda, MD. We are supporting a brand-new federal agency as they build out their Finance & Budget teams within the controller\xe2\x80\x99s office. This is an evolving team with opportunities for professional & personal growth. Required Experience: \xc2\xb7 8+ years of budget and/or financial analysis experience ideally in a federal setting \xc2\xb7 1+ year experience supporting either a United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agency and/or Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) professionally \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems in financial, administrative and program management. \xc2\xb7 Experience in tracking technical and financial milestones. \xc2\xb7 Requires knowledge/competence in web-based research as well as analysis using modern PC computer techniques, systems, and tools. \xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or higher \xc2\xb7 Expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Budget Formulation
  • Budget Execution
  • General Ledger/Accounting/Reconciliation
  • Audit/Policy/Internal Controls
  • Financial Services (A/R, vendor payment processing)
  • Cost Analysis
Description of roles and responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Assist in strategic planning, with preparation of technical, financial, and programmatic materials necessary to assist in the development and execution of programs. \xc2\xb7 The candidate shall provide budget information; conduct financial analyses; provide execution status; ensure proper use of all funds (active, expired, and cancelled); funds reconciliation; enter and maintain data; and forecasting. \xc2\xb7 The candidate shall be familiar with and assist with the development of budget submissions as required by NIH and HHS and assist in building out best practices and standard operating procedures within this subject matter.
